Concert Archive

I've decided to organize some of my concert pictures, and also try to document my concert history. Here's a list of all the big concert's I've seen ...that I can remember. Those that have hyper-links have pictures and maybe even some video. I've also added a 5 star rating system...because I'm geeky like that.

 

The 70's
September 2, 1977 the Summit - Kiss w/ Styx       My 1st concert - I was blown away!
1979 (or 1980) Music Hall (next to Sam Houston Coliseum) - Molley Hatchet      My 1st concert without a parent - pretty exciting!

The 80's
November 5, 1981 the Summit - Journey     I had a bad experience...nuff said. This show later came out on DVD.
February 17, 1982 Sam Houston Coliseum - Ozzy w/Randy Rhoads (Diary of a Madman tour)       Randy Rhoads is still my guitar hero.
Sunday, June 13 1982 Astrodome (Texxas Jam) - Journey, Point Blank, Joan Jett, Sammy Hagar, Santana      A fun show with high school friends.
May 10, 1983 Sam Houston Coliseum - Def Leppard      I just really don't remember much about this one.
April 9, 1984 Erwin Center (Austin) - Scorpions      The Scorpions put on a good show despite my bad seats.
1985/86 ?? (Austin) - The Outfield      A really fun show with lots of energy - but loosing my car for the night was a bummer.
August 21, 1986 (Austin) - INXS      Lambo and I really enjoyed this show.
October 20, 1987 Erwin Center (Austin) -Boston      Brad Delp was on crutches....stiff performance - haha - get it?
June 7, 1988 Summit - Robert Plant      Robert played some old Zep that brought the house down.
August 24, 1989 Rockefeller's - Stairway to Heaven (Zep tribute band)      I had a lot of tequila - so it was fun - but nothing compares to the real deal.

The 90's
August 3, 1990 Summit - Robert Plant      Not quite as amazing as the 1st time
March 2, 1990 Summit - The Cult      Just remember Jacqui falling down the stairs.
September 5, 1992 Lollapalooza (SugarLand) - Pearl Jam, SoundGarden, Ministry, Red Hot Chili Peppers     Just look at that lineup! Danced in the pit!
September 19, 1992 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Lynard Skynard w/Jackal      A party on the lawn...Wes passed out....I ate his leftovers.
September 23, 1992 Summit - Ozzy w/ Alice n Chains      Alice in Chains at their peak.
October 12, 1992 Astro Arena - Black Crowes      Good show despite some speakers falling down.
Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Steve Miller     
November 13, 1994 Astrodome - Rolling Stones      We had box seats waaaay up there - but open bar.
March 14, 1995 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Page/Plant      I have a soft spot for Zepplin.
July 12, 1996 Summit - White Zombie      Rockin' show - lots of kids jumped the rail to get on the floor.
November 18, 1996 Astro Arena - Stone Temple Pilots      Floor was fun.
February 19, 1996 Liberty Lunch (Austin) - Filter      Lead singer hated Austin.
November 26, 1996 International Ballroom - SoundGarden       One of my top 5 ever - AWESOME show - small venue - my last experiences in the pit.
July 29, 1998 Cynthia Woods Pavilion 'Lilith Fair' - Sarah McGloughlin, Natalie Merchant, Bonnie Rait, Erykah Badu, etc     Yes, Jacqui made me go - but it was fun.
August 7, 1998 Astro Arena - TOOL      Tool at their peak - 'nuf said.
1998 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest - Creed, Foo Fighters, etc.      Creed was really good - got the crowd going.
May 2, 1999 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Lenny Kravitz/Black Crowes        Another fun show at the Pavilion

2000
May 22, 2000 Compaq Center - Nine Inch Nails w/A Perfect Circle
      Went with Kenn Kerr - NIN was better than I expected. APC was good as well.
September 16, 2000 Aerial Theater - A Perfect Circle      APC (Maynard) - at the time I really enjoyed this show.  I've since soured on APC some.

2001

October 28, 2001 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - TOOL     
Could have been a 5 star show if they hadn't had so much stuff between songs.

2002
July 26, 2002 Erwin Center (Austin) - TOOL
    
Same as above.
July 27, 2002 Summit - TOOL
    
Maynard was sick - walked off stage for a bit.
July 30, 2002 Engine Room - Earshot     
OK, I did play in the pit here too - but it was teeny tiny.
November 16, 2002 Montagne Center (Beaumont) - TOOL      
My faith in TOOL was restored at this show - maybe it was the beer, but I thought it was great.

2003
July 28, 2003 Granada Theater (Dallas) - A Perfect Circle     
Good show - met some nice people.
July 11, 2003 Engine Room - Eric Johnson
    
- Nice intimate show with my Honey.
November 1, 2003 Reliant Arena - A Perfect Circle     
Pretty good show if I remember correctly.

2005
October 22, 2005 Buzzfest 16 - Cyntha Woods Pavilion - Seether, Nickleback, Audio Slave     
I came for Audio Slave, was blown away by Seether and Nickelback.

2006
January 24, 2006 Verizon (Aerial) theater - Seether & Shinedown     
Bouncing up and down despite knee surgery.
June 17, 2006 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest 17 - Candlebox, Trapt, Shinedown, Hoobastank, Stained     
Shinedown stole the show.
August 6, 2006 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Family Values Tour - 10 years, StoneSour, Deftones, Korn     
Korn kicked my ass.
August 25, 2006 Toyota Center - Nickelback, Hoobastank     
I was so far away I could hardly see - but still a good show.
August 27, 2006 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Shinedown     
Godsmack killed...I was blown away.
September 11, 2006 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - TOOL      My worst show ever.  Maynard was sick and hardly sang - sound was crap - NO BEER - NO WATER - NADA!!
October 8, 2006 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest 18 - Alice n Chains, Breaking Benjamin, Crossfade, etc.
       

2007
April 21, 2007 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest 19 - Seether, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Days Grace, Papa Roach, Hinder, Jet, Chevelle, Blue October, Buckcherry
   

July 6, 2007 Verizon (Aerial) Theater - Breaking Benjamin, Skinny Puppy, Red      Another top 5 show - Breaking Benjamin had SO MUCH energy - fun show!
July 17, 2007 Verizon (Aerial) Theater - Godsmack       Getting to see Godsmack at Verizon was a treat!
August 16, 2007 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Finger 11       Nickelback just CRUSHED IT!!
August 22, 2007 Verizon Theater - Shinedown & Operator       Shinedown vocals were low in the mix, Operator may have stolen the show. 
September 20, 2007 Reliant Arena - Hinder, Papa Roach and Buckcherry       Buckcherry and Papa Roach had me ROCKIN' OUT! 
October 18, 2007 Stubbs BBQ (Austin, TX) - Chevelle       My 1st show at Stubbs - WooHoo!!  Chevelle got the crowd going! 
November 3, 2007 Verizon Theater - Blue October       Jacqui wanted to go - Saturday night at Verison - was actually better than I expected.
November 13, 2007 Reliant Arena - Red, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace       Great lineup of bands!! ..show lived up to my high expectations.
November 16, 2007 Toyota Center - TOOL       Much better than the 2006/09/11 show....but I wasn't BLOWN AWAY as I have been in the past.
November 28, 2007 Warehouse Live - Operator and Avenged Sevenfold       My first show at The Warehouse - fun place!
December 9, 2007 Verizon Theater - Kid Rock       The 'mystery artist' who said "Bawitdaba da bang a dang diggy diggy diggy!"

2008
January 22, 2008 Toyoya Center - Foo Fighters       5 stars - an amazing two hours plus of solid rock-n-roll excitement.
February 15, 2008 Warehouse Live - Queensryche       A fun show on a Friday night.

April 26, 2008 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest XXI - Seether, Puddle of Mudd, Chevelle, Red, etc.       A great day at Buzzfest - SEETHER from row G!!
June 28, 2008 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Stone Temple Pilots       It was a really good show - Jacqui says it was one of her best ever!
July 22, 2008 Toyota Center - Motley Crue, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx AM       It was a solid four star show, and I had a five star time.
August 1, 2008 Toyota Center - Bullet for my Valentine       A good old fashioned heavy metal concert - complete with mosh pit. Another five star time.
August 6, 2008 Verizon Theater - Seether       Almost 5 stars, a tad too much filler between songs - but otherwise a GREAT and FUN show!
August 8, 2008 Stubb's Bar-B-Q - Seether       Maybe it was just being in Austin, but I felt like there was more energy in the crowd - ROCKIN' SHOW!
August 24, 2008 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Linkin Park and Chris Cornell       This was another GREAT show - the crowd sang almost every word!

2009
April 16, 2009 Toyota Center - Nickelback with Seether and Saving Able       Meeting Seether was great, Nickelback crushed it - and HEY MAN NICE SHOT!
May 10, 2009 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest XXII - Theory of a Deadman, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Korn       Low energy crowd, Jacqui and I felt bad - bailed early.

August 7, 2009 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Motely Crue, Godsmack and Theory of a Deadman       I think Godsmack blew away everyone.
August 21, 2009 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Incubus      
Great show with lots of energy between the crowd and band. Would have been 5 stars if the encoure were better.

September 12, 2009 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Nickelback with Hinder and Papa Roach       The limo ride, the show, the after party - it was AWESOME!
September 25, 2009 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Creed with Staind       I was really impressed with how good both Creed and Staind sounded - better than the CD!
October 9, 2009 Verizon Theater - Shinedown with Sick Puppies       In the end, it was the crowd's energy that lifted this to a four star show.

2010
April 18, 2010 House of Blues - Puddle of Mudd with Saliva       My first show at HOB - and it was FUN!! ...Saliva ROCKED and POM brought down the house.
May 2, 2010 Cynthia Woods Pavilion Buzzfest XXIV - Limp Bizkit, Three Days Grace, Seether, Deftones     
Perhaps the best concert I've ever seen!
May 30, 2010 Verizon Theater - Korn      A really good show....but perhaps I was a bit too drunk to fully appreciate it.
June 18, 2010 House of Blues - Sounds Of Seattle (Soundgarden and Pearl Jam tribute)      A really fun show, but cover bands never really match up to the real deal.

August 6, 2010 House of Blues - TOOLogy      As far as cover bands go - these guys NAILED IT.
September 4, 2010 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Creed with Red      We had a fun night - and it was a good show.
September 17, 2010 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - KISS      A last minute decision to go - still lots of fun. Kiss puts on a good show.
October 15, 2010 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Nickelback with Three Days Grace      Would have been a five star show if they had played longer (no encore?).
October 23, 2010 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - BUZZFEST 25 with Godsmack, Bush, Seether, Papa Roach, etc.      I was in THE PIT - Yeah Baby!
November 16, 2010 Verizon Theater - Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience      They sounded great - Jacqui and I had a lot of fun.
December 7, 2010 Verizon Theater - Shinedown with 10 Years acoustic show      Jacqui and I had 4th row center seats, and it seemed like they were playing just for us.

2011
May 1, 2011 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - BUZZFEST 26 with Puddle of Mudd, Seether and Evans Blue       Seether ROCKED, POM and EB were good...but the line up was lame

July 7, 2011 L'auberge du lac Casino - Seether       As always, Seether put on a great show, and we had a private cabana right next to the stage.
September 5, 2011 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Uproar Festival with Seether, Three Days Grace and Avenged Sevenfold       Seether from the 3rd row - everyone ROCKED!
October 22, 2011 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - BUZZFEST with Chevelle and STAIND       Chevelle was great, and STAIND put on a five star show.

2012
March 2, 2012 Verizon Theater - Megadeth with Volbeat    
We had a lot of fun, but I thought Volbeat sounded better than Megadeth.

April 5, 2012 House of Blues - Shinedown     One of the best Shinedown shows I've seen, plus we just had a TON of fun!
May 18, 2012 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Dave Matthews     We had a fun time, but Dave can be a little tame compared to what I'm used to seeing.
June 2, 2012 Toyota Center - Nickelback, Bush and Seether     3.5 stars, being so far in the back takes away from the show...short Seether set - still FUN!
September 15, 2012 Cynthia Woods Pavilion - Uproar Festival with Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind     Godsmack and Staind CRUSHED IT! The best show I've seen in a long time.

2013
March 23, 2013 House of Blues - Pop Evil and Otherwise     A fun show with good friends in VIP style~!
May 29, 2013 House of Blues - Limp Bizkit     An awesome show - Limp Bizkit ROCKED THE HOUSE DOWN~!

2014
April 23, 2014 Warehouse Live - Seether, Black Stone Cherry and Skindred    An awesome show in VIP style! If the lighting for Seether was better this would have been a five star show.

2015
January 30, 2015 Bayou Music Center (formally Verizon) - Seether and Papa Roach    Another awesome show in VIP style!

2017
June 8, 2017 Proof Rooftop Bar (Justin's place) - Texas Hippie Coalition    My first experience at Proof - fun!
August 20, 2017 House of Blues - Seether    Seether never dissapoints - another rockin' show!
